Onion Remedy for Influenza and Pneumonia
Take six or ten onions, according to size, and chop fine, put in large pan over fire, then add same quantity of rye meal and vinegar enough to make a thick paste. Stir it thoroughly, letting it simmer fo five or ten minutes. Then put in a cotton bag
large enough to cover the lungs. Apply to chest as hot as the patient can bear. In about 10 minutes apply another and thus continue by reheating the poultices. Usually 3-4 applications will be sufficient.
