1 lb raisins
1 1/2 cup cold water
3 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tea baking powder
|
In Saucepan, add cold water and 1 1/2 cups sugar to the raisins and cook till raisins are plump and tender. Set aside to cool.
Mix the flour, 1/1/2 cups sugar and shortening well with fingertips. Take out 1 cup of this mixture and set aside for crumbs. To remaining crumb mixture, add eggs and milk and
mix well. Stir in baking powder. Put raisins in 2 9 inch unbaked pie shells, pour batter over raisins and cover with crumbs.
Bake in hot oven, 440 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350 for 35 minutes
